Brownfield developers face complex regulatory and financial
hurdles in remediating properties, getting regulatory
approvals and then reselling properties. All of these
must be done under tight budget and schedules in a cost
efficient manner in order to make the project profitable.
Integrated has developed a Brownfield
tool that is specifically focused in managing the environmental
aspects of the redevelopment process. The Environmental
Data Management System (EDMS) is a software application
that combines GIS, data management, 3-Dimensional visualization,
a very quick Risk Assessment calculation tool, a remedial
technology and cost assessment module, and other features
that provide a real advantage to the Brownfield developer.
With the EDMS up and running on a site,
the developer can visually demonstrate the width and
depth of contamination on a site. He can quickly change
risk criteria to determine the amount of cleanup that
is required. He can review the applicable technologies
and select the least expensive alternatives. When remediation
is complete, he can show agencies and future buyers
how the property looks in a remediated view and quantitatively
demonstrate via a Risk Assessment calculation that cleanup
is adequate.
